Obituary for Josephine L. Boettcher

Josephine L. Boettcher, age 95, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018. She was born on July 9, 1922 in Stratford, WI to parents Adolph and Clara (Hein) Rieple. Josephine was a 1941 graduate of Stratford High School. She was united in marriage on July 17, 1948 to Robert D. Boettcher. Josephine was proud to build superchargers during WWII, inspecting parts for the Apollo space program and eventually retiring from Briggs & Stratton.
Josephine enjoyed gardening, sewing, traveling, playing sheepshead and an ardent Brewers fan.
Josephine is survived by three children, Dwayne (Carla Meister), Brian (Janet) and Beverly (Gerald F. Brehmer) Boettcher; six grandchildren, Eric (Kelly), Sarah (Marcus) Sherretts, Victoria (Michael) Lewis, Katherine (Andrew Meyer) Boettcher, Robert (Leah Hagen) Boettcher and Samuel Boettcher; thirteen great-grandchildren, Meghan, Lauren, Alana, Marin, Evan, Maddie, Paige, Abigail, Lilah, Dominic, Jackson, Alexander and Benjamin; one sister, Loretta (Stephen) Wallace; also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Josephine is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; brothers, Leonard, George and Adolph “Tony”; sister, Marion “Gertrude”.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Kilian Catholic Church (264 W. State St., Hartford) on Thursday, May 17 at 11:00 AM with Fr. David LaPlante presiding. Visitation at Church from 10:00 AM until time of Mass. Committal at Wisconsin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the church. The family would like to thank the staff at Aurora Hartford Memorial Hospital for their care and support.
