Obituary for Harold A. Hosbach

Harold A. Hosbach, age 87 of Milwaukee (formerly Hartford), Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Monday, February 12, 2018, at the Wisconsin Lutheran Living Center, surrounded by his loving family near and far.

He was born on April 17, 1930, in Saginaw, Michigan to Gerhard and Clara (nee Fritz) Hosbach. He was united in marriage to Rosalie L. Strunk on June 23, 1951, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Benton, Harbor, MI. Harold was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hartford. He was a professor of music who taught within schools and churches in Wisconsin and Michigan.

Harold is survived by his loving children, Kathryn (William) Nuoffer of Hales Corners, Daniel (Carolyn) Hosbach of MI, Gerald (Ellen) Hosbach of Hartford, and David (Sandee) Hosbach of West Allis; cherished grandchildren, Amy (Micah), Billy (Emily), Laura, Andrea, Allison (Tim), Amanda (Terry) Abby (Juan), Ashlee (Derek), and Christopher (Katie); great-grandchildren, Leah, Andy, Ella, Noah, Lyla, Abram, Vanessa, Ginesa, Aliyah, and Charlotte; and dear siblings-in-law, Eleanor Strunk, Esther Diez, John (Gwen) Strunk and Marge Hosbach. He is further survived by many loved nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Rosalie; parents; parents-in-law, John and Ida (nee Kasischke) Strunk; step-father-in-law, Albert Sempert; infant brother, Donald and brother, Ronald Hosbach.

Funeral services for Harold will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018, at
3:00 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, with Pastor Paul Waldschmidt officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home from 1:00-2:45p.m.

Private interment in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Milwaukee.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions with recipients to be determined by family.

Harold’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at the Wisconsin Lutheran Living Center in Milwaukee, for the outstanding love shown and care given to Harold over the past 2 years.
