Obituary for Colleen Ann Uecker-Nehls

Colleen A. Uecker-Nehls “Toots” (nee Peterman), age 84 of Watertown, Wisconsin passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Rainbow Hospice in Johnson Creek, WI.

Colleen was born May 31, 1934 in the Hartford, WI to Louis and Mary (nee Kettelsen) Peterman. She was united in marriage to the late Virgil Uecker of 43 years and the late Palmer Nehls of 18 years.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Neosho and was part of the ladies aide. She worked at the Chrysler Corp. in Hartford, was a cook at Neosho School for over 30 years, and belonged to the Hustisford Sinissippi Homemakers Club. Colleen helped on the family farm while raising her children and also loved sewing, crafting, cooking, card clubs, and most of all loved spending time with grandchildren and family.

Colleen is survived by her loving sons, Gerald (Sandra) Uecker and Steven (Diane) Uecker; step children, Sheryl Nehls, Christine Gabsch, and Gene (Janet) Nehls; 7 grandchildren, Angela (fiancé, Don Schaefer) Uecker, Tammy Uecker, Melissa (Tony) Pieper, Ryan Uecker, Kristi (Brian) Fiedler, Kyle (Jennifer) Uecker, and Shawn (Amy) Uecker; 7 great grandchildren, Bryanna Brace, Trenton, Faith and Trey Uecker, Allyson and Hudson Fiedler, and Greyson Uecker; 6 step grandchildren, Kyle and Derek Gabsch, Bradley (Melissa), Seth, Shawn and Brandon (BJ) Nehls; 6 step great-grandchildren, Allisa Pieper, Brianna Schaefer, Ethan and Abigail Benishek and Micah and Mia Nehls; dear siblings, Betty Schmidt, Florence Weisgerber, Arlene (Robert) Kuehl, Richard (Barbara) Peterman, and Linda (Robert) Fehrman; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Lee Peterman, Barbara Peterman, Robert Kuehl and Robert Fehrman. She is further survived by loved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, David; brothers, Gene and Dean; sisters, Dorothy, Maxine Zimmerman, and Ruby Klatt; siblings-in-law, Wilmer Schmidt and Leonard Weisgerber.

Funeral services for Colleen will be Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (132 E. Church St. Neosho, WI 53059) with Pastor Joshua Kesting officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday at the church from 11:00a.m. -2:00 p.m.

Interment in Hustisford Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Neosho are appreciated.
