Leo M. Komp, age 77, of Hartford passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at the Samaritan Home in West Bend surrounded by his family.
He was born January 27, 1935 in Hartford to Theodore and Rose (Herbes) Komp. Leo was united in marriage to Mary Martin on October 13, 1956 at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Mapleton.
He enjoyed vegetable gardening, and cutting firewood. Leo was a member of the V.F.W. for over 40 years and St. Catherine's Catholic Church.
Leo is survived by his wife Mary: four daughters Debra (Steve) Waala, Lynne (Mike) Gross, Heidi (Frank) Galioto, and Julie (Mike Engelke) Komp;
eleven grandchildren Anne, Greg, Luke and Andrew Waala, Sarah and Nicole Gross, Anthony and Tyler Komp, Nathan Engelke, Alicia and Peter Galioto; six great-grandchildren Isaiah, Alex, Dominic, Laila, Corrine, and Sophie; his siblings Ted Komp Jr., Betty Scharpf, and Richard Komp. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Raymond, Robert (Valeria) and Jerome Komp, sister Phylis Kiefer, and his brother-in-law Joe Scharpf.
Mass of Christian burial for Leo will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Catherine Catholic Church, W359 N8512 Brown Street, Oconomowoc (Mapleton) with Fr. Mike Strachota officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of mass.
Interment with military honors will follow mass at St. Catherine's Cemetery.
