Donald A. "Don" Wolter, age 68, of Neosho, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Don was born July 27, 1944 in Silver Lake, Wisconsin to Arthur and Luella (née Budewitz) Wolter. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Brendemuehl on October 22, 1967 at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hustisford.
Don farmed for 20 years and also worked for Aurora Healthcare as lead maintenance for 12 years. He loved watching NASCAR racing, especially Dale Earnhardt, and enjoyed watching the Brewers and Packers. Don served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church and served on the School Board for Bethany Evangelical Lutheran School.
Don is survived by his wife, Bonnie; his children, Robie (Kristin) of Watertown, Robin (Scott) Newton of Sun Prairie, Shawn (Marcie) of Neosho, and Denise (Rev. Martin) Mielke of Sarasota, Florida; 12 grandchildren, Jordan, Lexie, Sierra, Peyton, Brooke, Morgan, Jarrett, Jayden, Brayden, Taylor, Mason, and Martin; his mother, Luella Wolter of Iron Ridge; his siblings, Robert (Mary) of Watertown, Harvey (Helen) of Juneau, Tom (Marvelene), Franklin (Karen) all of Ashippun, Betty (Merlin) Schwartz, Shirley Koeppel all of Watertown, John (Debbie) of Juneau, Delores Raether of Watertown, Ronald Wolter of Jefferson, Bernard (Pat) of Neosho, Jerald of Hustisford, Sally (Dan) Cronin of Arizona, and Charles (Judy) of Hustisford; and his brother-in-law, Dennis (Judy) Brendemuehl of Horicon. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Don was preceded in death by his father Arthur, his brother-in-law Roger Koeppel.
A Memorial Service for Don will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church at 269 N. Lake St., Hustisford, Wisconsin, with Pastor Timothy Bauer officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 3:00 -7:00 p.m.
